Results Coming Soon

The Nothing to Lose challenge has come to an end.  Once again everyone put in such a brilliant effort and this has been reflected in the results seen over the past 6 weeks.  The final weigh in's will be complete this week and results will be announced.

Many are continuing on to the F.A.T. challenge to further continue their journey of healthy eating and desirable body shapes.

Tough Guy & Gal Challenge

So this year I took part in the Tough Guy event on the second weekend it was offered in Rotorua.  So the course had already been mud-ified the previous weekend.

Kieran and I did this together and we got off to a good start.  Unfortunately his knee gave him trouble on our second lap to complete the full 12km.  We still were able to complete the course in 1 hour 37 minutes.  I was the 24th female in my age group which I was pretty happy with.

When you crossed the finish line we were given a Big Ben meat pie, and yes to everyone who has asked I DID eat it!  I appreciate that pies aren't an everyday food and this was a once in a year event, so I must say I quite enjoyed my pie!!  Anything warm after running through the mud and wading through ponds of freezing cold water up to chest level was going to be a winner on the day!

Personal Training

I am now offering Personal Training as another one of my services!

So now you can couple your nutritional meal plans with exercise sessions!  By having your nutrition and exercise all taken care of by one person means it's designed specifically for you and the two will align perfectly.

I can do one on one training sessions to suit the client, anything from multiple sessions per week, weekly, or fortnightly.

There is a discount for those who purchase meal plans as well as signing up for personal training sessions.

The first few Personal Training clients to come on board are enjoying their sessions and making progress every week.  If you too would like to see results sooner contact me today.

Nothing to Lose Winner

Congratulations to Nicola Foran who won the latest Nothing to Lose 6 week Challenge!  The exciting thing about this particular winner was that she completed the 6 week challenge by distance.  Nicola lives in Napier and is proof that with the right attitude, a proven results based nutrition plan, you can achieve results.  It's not about being scared of me (even though I can write pretty scary emails!!).

The challenge top 3 were:
1st - Nicola Foran lost 11.3% body fat
2nd - Katrina Gray lost 9% body fat
3rd - Marilyn Pilkington lost 7.8% body fat

Well done to everyone who took part.

The next 6 week group challenge will be the F.A.T. challenge.  F.A.T. stands for Food And Training and leads on from this current challenge.  Register your interest if you wish to enrol in this next 6 week challenge.

7th Place Getter

I competed in the Mount Joggers and Runners 10km event at Mount Maunganui on 3rd June.  I was pleasantly suprised with my result as I was placed 7th in my age category.  I was 15th female overall out of 299 females entered.  My time was 48:10 minutes.

Originally I had planned for this to be my event where I found my feet again after not doing any events since my surgery.  I have only been doing 3 x 20 minute cardio sessions per week on the treadmill, sometimes only 2 if I am naughty and miss a session!  I know that I always get my "race day performance" and am able to do better in a race versus training, but it was a nice suprise to be ranked so near the top rather than the bottom.

This now means I do need to pick up the training in regards to my running and get some more longer run sessions into the week.  I have my eyes set on doing a personal best in November for the Round the Bridges event in Hamilton.

First Bootcamp

So today is Wednesday, and we know what that means!  It's our first Nothing to Lose Bootcamp session!!!  YAY

Tonight I will do a quick fitness test which we will then repeat in week 6 and compare the results over the time of the challenge.  We will then venture off outside and fill in our hour session with a range of cardio and body weight exercises.  Since it is week 1, everyone can put their fears at rest I will be nice tonight and see where everybody is at, but look out week 2!

Don't forget to bring your smartphone and check in on foursquare at bootcamp tonight.  See you there, I will be checked in

Ready to Go!

The meal plans , the exercise programmes, and a list of foods to substitute have been sent out.  So now all that is to happen is for the team to follow the plans and me to sit back and wait for the results to come in.  Well that's not entirely true, I now need to get on with writing the meal plans for weeks 2-4.

You will have a re-measure after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and then at the completion of the 6 weeks.  At the first re-measure I will have a prize for the person who has achieved the greatest percentage change in their centimetre measures.

At this stage I'm still being called Sheena, we will see if I get any name changes once we start the Wednesday exercise sessions, maybe I'll be called "super nice Sheena" by then!!!!

Nothing to Lose start

The next intake of Nothing to Lose is starting on 9th April.  This week I have been taking everyone's starting measures.  It is good to see the motivation around why people want to achieve some body fat loss.  I can't wait until the end of the 6 weeks when each person looks back and is so excited about their results.

This round we have two people taking part from outside of Hamilton, welcome to the Napier and Whakatane clients, it's great to have you as part of the team.

Meal plans will be sent out in time for the weekend so you can do your shopping and start following the plans from Monday 9th April.

Almost 100%

Further progress yet again!  I'm now jogging and able to do a couple of sets of ab work and so I am looking forward to being able to take my Core class again and have everyone working their abs.  I'm not sure if you will be happy to have me back or not!!

I don't yet have any events in my calendar for the year but will be looking to start picking events to train for very soon.  If anyone is interested in training for an event with me let me know.
