Post Surgery

The surgery had a few problems at the start and I was required to have a second surgery.  I am now over this and am on the road to recovery.  I am back at work part time until I am over the actual surgery, there are no problems now with the actual operation side of things and everything it was planned to do has been achieved.  I am looking forward to being able to get back into my exercise.

I have a few scars about 5cm each one up and one down from my belly button and 3 others on my stomach area that are only about 2cm each.  I'm not too concerned about these.

The result was that 1/3 of my total intestines has now been removed and I only have a small section of my large intestine remaining.  None of my small intestine was removed.

I lost some weight due to this surgery but it would be mainly the weight that I carried around with me due to the blockages and bloating that I constantly had prior to surgery.  I will be able to give you a more realistic comparison when I'm back exercising again as I will have lost some of my muscle tissue over the past 6 weeks also.

Thank you to those who visited me in hospital and have sent me messages since.  I can't wait to be up and running without having to "take it slow" all the time.  Slow is not really my personality!!
